Formula

Volume mL = U-100 units ÷ 100. Mass mg = volume mL × concentration mg/mL. Mass mcg = mg × 1,000.

Hypothetical example

For illustration, 8 U on U-100 is 0.08 mL. At a hypothetical verified concentration of 1.5 mg/mL, that volume contains 0.12 mg or 120 mcg. This does not recommend that amount.

Common errors

  • Entering total package mg instead of mg/mL.
  • Using a non-U-100 syringe.
  • Transcribing concentration from the wrong product.
  • Using the result as treatment guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a GLP-1 dosing recommendation?

No. It is arithmetic for translating an entered concentration and U-100 marking. It does not tell you what amount to use, whether a product is appropriate, or how often to take it.

Why can two people get different mg from the same units?

Their products may have different concentrations. Units describe volume on a syringe; milligrams describe mass. Always check the pharmacy label and the syringe scale.
